WWE BLOODIEST MATCHES IN HISTORY

WWE has never been short on blood throughout the years. While it is debatable what the bloodiest bout in wrestling history is, or when blading and bleeding during a match was originally introduced to the sport, it has certainly left its imprint, both metaphorically and practically. Blood spilled by a wrestler portrays a narrative of agony, suffering, and courage. The purposeful bloodshed comes at the expense of the wrestler and their body in order to offer people pleasure, and that is a genuine commitment.

BLOODIEST MATCHES IN WWE HISTORY-1

This list of brutal bouts exclusively includes WWE encounters since including all of the wrestling would make selecting just 10 matches virtually difficult. Although blood is rare in the PG Era of WWE wrestling, it still happens, either by mistake or on purpose in specific scenarios. Many men (and women) have died in WWE bouts over the years, and although a list of ten does not include them all, it does aim to designate the 10 deadliest in the company’s history.

1. SGT. SLAUGHTER VS. PAT PATTERSON: WWE, ALLEY FIGHT, 1981

says that this was their first “extreme” contest. Sgt. Slaughter and Patterson faced off in Madison Square Garden together after a fierce feud that Slaughter views to be a war. Patterson hurled Sgt. Slaughter into the ring post, causing a laceration on his skull. The absence of a referee made it difficult for them to finish their bout, but after a boot hit, The Grand Wizard tossed his towel in the ring, deciding Slaughter couldn’t take any more strikes. Patterson defeated Slaughter that night, making it an extreme bout even before ECW started.

2. BROCK LESNAR VS. RANDY ORTON: SUMMERSLAM 2016

Because of the PG Era, Lesnar vs. Orton was an unexpected bloodbath. Lesnar was furious after a hard battle and a kick out from Orton. He took off his gloves, hitting Orton and elbowing him in the face, cutting him open. Orton had a steady trickle of blood pouring from his brow. Lesnar was declared the victor of the bout via TKO. Despite the fact that the spot was premeditated, Orton suffered a concussion and needed staples in his skull to repair the cut Lesnar genuinely inflicted on him. Although it is not the bloodiest place in history, the quantity of blood Orton spilled makes it the bloodiest moment in the PG Era.

3. RANDY SAVAGE VS. RIC FLAIR – WRESTLEMANIA 8

Ric Flair is infamous for leaking blood throughout his bouts. He proudly displays the quantity of blood he pours with his platinum blond and white hair. The element of surprise was also obvious when Randy Savage attacked Flair with a double axe handle right to the back at this point in wrestling.

Flair landed on the steel barrier and awoke with blood on his face and hair. Flair bled profusely in this bout and apparently got in trouble for it, but it made for entertaining wrestling. He maintained his reputation as a bleeder in subsequent battles, several of which had as much or more blood as his fight with Savage. One of those potential matchups may be on this list…

4. HELL IN A CELL: ARMAGEDDON 2000

One of the most underappreciated Hell in a Cell fights of all time included a defending Kurt Angle, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Rikishi, and Triple H. This is still one of the most original, creative, and brutal bouts in WWE history. Rikishi was chokeslammed from the cell’s roof. Stone Cold smashed a vehicle glass. It was unorganized, but it was a lot of fun. Every wrestler in this bout lost blood, and although it may not be the most blood WWE has seen, it has earned its place on our list.

5. TRIPLE H VS. RIC FLAIR: TABOO TUESDAY 2005

Ric Flair defended his Intercontinental Championship against Triple H in this steel cage battle for the Intercontinental Championship. When the two men clashed, Triple H pushed Flair head-first into the steel cage, causing him to bleed. Flair subsequently responded by biting Triple H’s forearm, causing him to bleed as well. Flair retained his championship after escaping the steel cage by striking Triple H three times with a chair before fleeing through the door.

Taboo Tuesday was clearly an odd idea, but it did allow fans to choose the sorts of bouts they wanted to watch on the pay-per-view. Although Triple H did not put an end to Ric Flair’s career that night, he did put up a fantastic and violent bout with him.
