Women’s T20 World Cup: Players, pundits and fans react to huge demand for T20 World Cup final tickets

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 final between South Africa and Australia will be played at Newlands on Sunday in front of a sold-out crowd.

Fans waited in line to get tickets starting at 6 a.m. on Saturday to watch the Proteas try to capture their first-ever senior World Cup victory. A dramatic turnaround for the team during the World Cup was capped by South Africa’s exciting victory over England in the semifinal.

They had “forever transformed women’s sport in South Africa,” according to star all-rounder Marizanne Kapp.  As anticipation for Sunday’s final grows, Kapp was undoubtedly not the only prominent figure in the sport to observe the tremendous demand for tickets.
