Where will football teams stay, train at Qatar World Cup 2022?

Three-quarters of the nations competing in this year’s World Cup in Qatar will be situated within a 10-kilometer (six-mile) radius of one another, according to FIFA, which announced the hotels and training facilities for the 32 teams.

Unlike past competitions, each team will stay at the same hotel and practice at the same location during the event. As fellow players and passionate fans from all 32 nations gather in a single area, players will have more time to train and rest during the competition, while also being able to experience the excitement that will sweep the country at much closer quarters,” said Colin Smith, FIFA’s Chief Operating Officer – World Cup.

The competition, which will be played over eight venues, will begin on November 21 and conclude on December 18. According to FIFA, the lodging options range from “four and five-star hotels to villas, resorts, and non-hotel accommodation, including sports academy apartments and school/university dormitories.”

Legacy planning has been a crucial part of all of our World Cup initiatives, and many of the training grounds restored and developed will help local clubs and communities long after the event is over. “The new hotels will also help Qatar’s burgeoning tourist economy beyond 2022,” said Nasser al-Khater, CEO of Qatar 2022.

More than a million fans are expected to attend the tournament in Qatar.
