At a press conference conducted prior to the game on Saturday at the PCB Headquarters, Babar Azam stated: “We will strive to play excellent cricket. We work on our weaknesses rather than dwelling on the previous games.

Every player wants to win the PSL, and if we play to the best of our ability, we will take home the PSL 8 trophy. Despite receiving criticism from individuals regardless of his performance, he remains hopeful. Yet, he cautioned against being overconfident. I make an effort to maintain my modesty since I am aware of my situation.

When asked about the face-off with Shaheen Shah Afridi, the batter said: “Whenever I play against Shaheen and Lahore Qalandars, I try to give my best. Everyone knows he is one of the best bowlers in Pakistan, and day by day, he is improving. It’s challenging to play against him, but you get confident that you are playing the best bowler. You get to see competition between us.”

Pakistan captain Babar said it’s different to captain a franchise team as compared to the national team because you have to manage and take along foreign players in league cricket. He also shed light on the performing youngsters in the PSL 8, saying it’s a golden opportunity for them. “This is an opportunity to learn as you share the dressing room with different players.

The hitter responded when asked about the matchup with Shaheen Shah Afridi: “Whenever I play against Shaheen and the Lahore Qalandars, I strive to give my all. He is well-known as one of Pakistan’s top bowlers, and he keeps getting better. When playing against him is difficult, you start to feel certain that you are facing the best bowler. You may observe our rivalry with one another.

Babar, the captain of Pakistan, noted that leading a franchise side in league cricket is different from leading the national team since you must oversee and bring along international players. Also, he discussed the PSL 8 performers, calling it a superb chance for them. “This is a chance for you to grow as you learn.”

Babar Azam, the captain of Peshawar Zalmi, is a world-class player, and the game against his team will be very difficult and exciting, according to Shaheen Shah Afridi. “This season’s PSL still has a number of important matchups left. We have to play Karachi one more, therefore we’ll attempt to perform better this time and support our team in bringing home the PSL 8 championship.

At 7:00 PM today (Sunday), Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi will square off in the first PSL 8 game to be held in the scenic city of Lahore. This will be the first matchup between the two teams this season, and the sole difference between them is the net run rate.  The title-defending Lahore Qalandars are third with -0.050 and Peshawar Zalmi are fourth with -1.137 in the points standings. Each club has two victories and four points after two games.
