T20 World Cup: Who would ever thought Pakistani Qualify for Semifinals

In Group Two, Pakistani Qualify for Semifinals by defeating Bangladesh by five wickets to go to the ICCT20 World Cup semi-finals. With five wickets down, the Green Shirts accomplished their goal of 128 runs in the 19th over.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan said that the wicket looks quite dry. Will defend by making runs. Three changes have been made to the team for today’s match and Soumya Sarkar, Nasim Ahmed and Ibadat Hussain have been included in the team. Pakistani Qualify for Semifinals

After the initial loss, Soumya Sarkar came into the field and supported his team along with Najamul Hussain. A partnership of 52 runs was formed between the two, after which Soumya took a catch off the ball of Shadab Khan. On the very next ball, Shadab also got Shakib Al Hasan lbw.

Najamul Hussain Shanto, who was initially dropped by Shadab Khan off Mohammad Sam, took full advantage of the opportunity and scored 54 runs off 48 balls with seven fours. He was bowled by Iftikhar Ahmed. In the death overs, the Pakistani pacers bowled well and did not give the Bangladeshi batsmen a chance to play. Shaheen Shah Afridi continued his good bowling and came round the wicket and bowled Mossadeek Hussain on his in-swing. At the same over, he also caught out Noorul Hasan.

Bangladeshi tail-enders looked helpless against Shaheen’s bowling. He also caught out Tasin Ahmad in his last over and thus managed to get four wickets in the match. The eighth player to get out was Nasim Ahmed who scored seven runs and was caught out by Haris Rauf.
