Heinrich Klaasen has taken his position in the starting lineup as South Africa seeks to improve their chances of reaching the semi-finals. At the toss, Captain Temba Bavuma revealed the news. David Miller has been on fire with the bat for South Africa this season. In 2022, the left-hander has 344 T20I runs at an excellent average and strike rate of 68.80 and 170.29, respectively.

He also recently struck an undefeated 59 to lead South Africa to a dramatic victory over India. David Miller also struck a century in Guwahati during the T20I series in India leading up to the World Cup.

But the Proteas have a capable substitute in Klaasen, who has 651 T20I runs at a strike rate of 147.61. He has also made four fifties, including an 81 against India earlier this year at Cuttack.

South Africa also made another change, with wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi replacing left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj in the XI.
