The NFL announced a flex schedule modification for Week 17 on Sunday. The Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens game on Sunday, Jan. 1, will now air at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. The Los Angeles Rams vs. Los Angeles Chargers game, which was previously planned for that time slot, will now be played at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS on the same day.
Steelers vs Ravens
The Steelers vs Ravens are still in postseason contention, with the Ravens having secured at least a wild-card position. The Chargers were flexed into the SNF game twice this season, in Weeks 11 and 14, but are now one of the teams being flexed out. To assure strong Sunday night games, the NFL developed a “flexible scheduling” approach for Sunday Night Football beginning in 2006. Sunday night flex scheduling is available twice during Weeks 5-10 and Weeks 11-17.
