Yadav struck 112 not out in 51 balls, striking seven fours and nine sixes as India set Sri Lanka a total of 229 after deciding to bat first. Yadav smashed his third T20 century in 45 balls, demonstrating why he is the world’s top-ranked men’s batsman in the format.

In response, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 137, with Arshdeep Singh taking three wickets and Hardik Pandya, Umran Malik, and Yuzvendra Chahal each taking two. The triumph occurred after India won the first T20 by two runs, while Sri Lanka won the second game by 16 runs.

When India chose to bat, Ishan Kishan was out in the first over, but Rahul Tripathi hit 35 off 16 balls to give the innings impetus. Shubman Gill contributed 46 points on 36 balls. But the momentum shifted when Yadav arrived at the crease. He crushed the Lankan bowling assault with seven fours and nine sixes.

His run to three figures was the second fastest for India after Rohit Sharma (35 balls) against Sri Lanka in 2017. Yadav and Gill combined for 111 runs off 53 balls for the third wicket. Gill went out in the 15th over, and India also lost skipper Hardik Pandya (4) and Deepak Hooda (4). (4). But it didn’t matter since Yadav raced over 200 in 18 overs.
