Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson lauded Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, whose current form has drawn much accolades from the cricket world. When evaluating Pandya’s skills in the Twenty20 format, Watson stated that the Indian player is much ahead of England all-rounder Ben Stokes.
Both Pandya and Stokes are match-winners in their own right, with power-hitting ability that can win a game on its own; also, both players are pace all-rounders, a rare commodity, and hence comparisons between the two are made on a regular basis.
When asked to choose between Pandya and Stokes, Watson preferred the former, noting that he thought Pandya was an outstanding performer. Hardik is currently at the pinnacle of his abilities. It’s a pleasure to see him play.
I enjoy seeing fast-bowling all-rounders who come in hard and fast. You know the impact they can have, and how they can take the game away from the opponent at any stage of the game, whether it’s with the bat and ball, or with the pitching machine “Speaking to NDTV, the former Australian all-rounder added.
He went on to say, “It’s great to watch Hardik performing like he’s doing right now. In terms of T20 cricket, Hardik is much ahead of Ben Stokes right now. With the way Hardik bats, his adaptability when batting, and the way he bowls.
Pandya led his Gujarat Titans to a title triumph in their debut season, and has been successful with both the bat and the ball for the Indian squad as well—his performance in the Asia Cup last month, in particular, was acclaimed by many.
