Shaheen Shah Afridi, the captain of the Lahore Qalandars, was chosen by an impartial panel led by technical committee chairman Haroon Rashid to lead the team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023. Sana Mir, Bazid Khan, Daren Ganga, Nick Knight, and other analysts served on the panel.
The impartial panel took into account a variety of T20 cricket factors when choosing the team, including consistency, impact on the team and overall game, and optimum team composition to enable this team to compete against any T20 side on any given day at any venue in any circumstances.
PSL 2023 tournament team
An impartial commission led by technical committee chairman Haroon Rashid selected Shaheen Shah Afridi of the Lahore Qalandars as the team captain for the PSL 2023 season. Commentators Bazid Khan, Daren Ganga, Nick Knight, and Sana Mir were also on the panel.

Mohammad Haris and Azam Khan are being chosen for the tournament team for the first time, just like the Multan pair. Overall, the team consists of five members from the Sultans, who lost in the final, two members from each of the Qalandars and Zalmi, and one member from each of Islamabad United and Karachi Kings.

As openers, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam have been chosen, and a potent middle order of Haris, Rilee Rossouw, Azam, and Kieron Pollard has also been chosen. All-rounder Imad Wasim, who was chosen for the PSL team for the first time, is followed by Rashid Khan, a wrist spinner, and three fast bowlers in Afridi, Ihsanullah, and Abbas.

Babar has been chosen as an opener four times in the last five years, albeit the first three times were with Rizwan, who was chosen for the tournament team of the year three times in a row.
