South Africa’s T20 league is yet to see a side break away from the competition, with all six teams winning and losing at least once in the opening week of the SA20. However, some of the biggest names in T20s have made an early statement by piling up boundaries with the bat or limiting the flow of runs with the ball.

We take a look at the top batsmen and bowlers in the SA20 league thus far:

The Super Giants of Durban lead the top run-scorers list in the inaugural SA20 league, with teenage star Dewald Brevis and England’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup-winning captain Jos Buttler not far behind after four matches. England imports Will Jacks (114), Phil Salt (107), and Sunrisers Eastern Cape duo JJ Smuts (102) might all get into the top five for runs when the Pretoria Capitals play their fourth T20 (101).

South African all-rounder George Linde produced an impressive strike rate of 225 with an unbeaten 63 from 28 balls against Sunrisers Eastern Cape, which featured five sixes and four boundaries. Will Jacks and Phil Salt of the Pretoria Capitals are close behind and have struck at a similar rate to their early England heroics, while journeyman James Fuller (Sunrises Eastern Cape) tops all-comers with a strike rate of 200 but from just 23 balls faced.

Three regular South African pacers are among the top run-restrictors, despite the fact that Kagiso Rabada has only played two SA20 matches and Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje have ran out in three. Evan Jones, an all-rounder, has made an early impression in the SA20, taking nine wickets in three matches, including a 4/32 against Durban’s Super Giants. After taking 4/28 against the same side, Olly Stone has the best bowling stats in the competition thus far. England’s left-arm seamer Reece Topley (Durban Super Giants) and South Africa veteran Aaron Phangiso (Joburg Super Kings) have both taken six wickets, but on a somewhat lower average.
