PSL Award Winners

Sultans’ 21-year-old Abbas Afridi, who finished as the greatest wicket-taker with 23 scalps, received the rising player of PSL 8 whilst Kieron Pollard collected the best fielding title. The PSL 8 umpire was chosen as Alex Wharf, while the captain of the Karachi Kings, Imad Wasim, was awarded the league’s all-around player. The fearless left-hander took nine wickets at an economy rate of 7.93 while scoring 404 runs at a strike rate of above 170.

Young fast bowler Ihsanullah of the Multan Sultans earned the player-of-the-tournament award in the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Ihsanullah received the award for best player in the competition for his notable contributions. He finished the event with the second-most wickets, 22, in the field. Among the more seasoned and established stars of the event, the right-arm pacer is the first up-and-coming player to be selected best.

The previous seven winners of this award are: Ravi Bopara (2016, Karachi Kings), Kamran Akmal (2017, Peshawar Zalmi), Luke Ronchi (2018, Islamabad United), Shane Watson (2019, Quetta Gladiators), Babar Azam (2020, Karachi Kings), Sohaib Maqsood (2021, Multan Sultans) and Mohammad Rizwan (2022, Multan Sultans)
