Mohammad Rizwan, the Multan Sultans’ captain, reached 500 runs in the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) this year. Rizwan struck 33 off 29 with three boundaries against Lahore Qalandars on Wednesday in the PSL 8 qualifier. He then mentioned his 500 runs for the year.

Rizwan, who became well-known in T20Is after being selected as the national team’s opener in 2020, achieved another record in the PSL. He now holds the record for the most runs scored by a batter in three PSL editions, 500+. Rizwan has already scored 516 runs this season after scoring 500 runs in PSL season 6 and 546 runs the previous year.

This season, the right-handed batsman also recorded his first PSL century. He now has the most runs scored in the tournament’s ongoing edition. In the PSL 8 qualifying match, the Sultans are presently competing against the league leaders Qalandars.

In the PSL qualifier between the two clubs last season, Sultans defeated Qalandars by 28 runs to go to the final. Eventually, Qalandars defeated Sultans in the PSL championship game to claim the title.

It should be mentioned that Sultans, led by Rizwan, has remained one of the PSL’s most reliable teams over the past few seasons. Rizwan was named the Sultans’ captain in 2021, and they captured their first PSL championship. The Sultans competed in the PSL 7 championship later that year.
