PSL 8: Mohammad Amir double-wicket opening over burst

In a thrilling first over, Mohammad Amir claimed the wickets of both Pakistan captain Babar Azam and fascinating youngster Mohammad Haris to ignite the Pakistan Super League match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi.

The opening ball of the game was hit by Mohammad Amir, who last represented Pakistan in August 2020, trapping Haris in front, however, umpire Michael Gough first rejected the challenge. Saim Ayub, the third batsman for Peshawar, singled on his first pitch at the wicket, leaving Babar facing Mohammad Amir who was already on strike.

Before launching another full, inswinger, Babar successfully guarded his first two balls, both around the off stump. This time, Gough sent the batter out onto the field, and after a review, Babar was forced to withdraw after facing only three balls, leaving his new team behind 1-2 after one over. Saim Ayub hit the guy at deep square leg to give Amir numbers of 3-2 after 1.2 overs as he picked up his third wicket.
