Peshawar Zalmi has appointed Babar Azam as the captain of the team for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). On Wednesday, Peshawar Zalmi confirmed the appointment of Babar Azam as the captain of the team through the social networking website Twitter The owner of Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi, said in one of his tweets that “I am very happy to announce that Babar Azam will be the captain of Peshawar Zalmi.
PSL 8, Babar Azam will lead Peshawar Zalmi
Babar Azam will represent a team other than Karachi Kings after six years in the eighth season of PSL in 2023. Earlier he played 66 matches for Karachi Kings in PSL in which he scored 2398 runs at an average of 43. This year saw a big trade between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, under which Babar Azam came from Karachi Kings to Peshawar Zalmi while Shoaib Malik and Haider Ali went from Peshawar Zalmi to Karachi Kings.

On the other hand, the captaincy of Karachi Kings has once again been given to all-rounder Imad Wasim. Remember, Babar Azam was part of Islamabad United in the first season of PSL in 2016 where he played only two matches and then he was traded by Islamabad United to Karachi Kings.
