Babar Azam, the skipper of Peshawar Zalmi, made history on Monday by becoming the first batter in the history of the HBL PSL to surpass the milestone of 2,500 runs. In the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, the right-handed batsman connected with Qais Ahmed for a boundary during his innings against the Quetta Gladiators to set the aforementioned record.
Babar Azam’s milestone in PSL History
To get the competition off to a strong start, Babar delivered a match-winning 68-run knockoff 46 balls against the Kings. There are just two other batsmen in league history who have scored more than 2000 runs: Shoaib Malik (2023) and Fakhar Zaman (2020). Babar (2509) only managed to score 19 runs against the Gladiators on 18 balls. Mohammad Nawaz captured him and put him down.
