PSL 2023: Struggling Quetta Gladiators to get major boost from Sir Viv Richards’

With only one victory in four games, Quetta Gladiators is ranked sixth in the standings. The Quetta Gladiators would benefit greatly from Sir Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards’ plan to return as their coach during the current eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is currently in progress. Sir Viv Richards, who has been a member of the Purple team since the PSL’s first season in 2016, is also keen to join the club. Because of his extravagant playing style, Richards is regarded as one of the best hitters of all time. During the course of his brilliant career, which featured more than 15,000 runs, he participated in 121 Tests and 187 One-Day Internationals for West Indies.

In tests, he scored 24 hundred, while in ODIs, he scored 11. With only one victory in three games, Quetta Gladiators is ranked sixth in the standings. Today (Tuesday), in Karachi, they will play the reigning champions Lahore Qalandars. The team under Sarfaraz Ahmed lost their first game against Multan Sultans but came back to beat Karachi Kings in their subsequent encounter. Yet in their third PSL 8 encounter against Peshawar Zalmi on Monday, they once again lost.

It should be mentioned that PSL 8’s championship match and closing ceremony will take place on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host the playoffs. In addition to receiving the Supernova Trophy, the victor will also get a check for Rs120 million, while the losers will each receive a check for Rs48 million. Although Quetta Gladiators won the trophy in 2019, Lahore Qalandars will seek to become the first team to win back-to-back championships.
