Powerhouses evin Lewis, Johnson Charles return to West Indies ICC men’s T20 WC 2022 Squad

The West Indies have revealed their 15-man roster for the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, with Evin Lewis returning to the team for the first time since the event in the UAE in 2021.

Evin Lewis and Johnson Charles Return to perform in WC T20 2022

Evin Lewis and Johnson Charles, two of the greatest in the industry, returned as West Indies selected their team of 15 players for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. “We chose a blend of youth and experience to represent the West Indies,” CWI Lead Selector Desmond Haynes remarked.

We were aware of the current CPL during the selection process and looked at the guys who have been doing really well. I would be interested in offering players the opportunity, as I have done in the past. I feel we have chosen a very solid team that will contend, considering that we must qualify from Round 1 into the Super12s.

Johnson Charles, who last played a T20I in 2016, is a surprising inclusion in the team. Charles, who just made his ODI debut, was chosen over Hayden Walsh as the squad’s leg-spinner. Andre Russell and Fabian Allen, who both participated in the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the UAE, were not included, with the chief selector stating that Russell was omitted.
