In the 23rd game of the Pakistan Super League 2023 at Rawalpindi, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Lahore Qalandars by 35 runs. Babar Azam, the captain of Zalmi, had chosen to bat after winning the toss. Peshawar Zalmi, who batted first, was dismissed for 207 runs in 19.3 overs.

Saim Ayub and Babar Azam are excellent openers. Together, they contributed 107 runs to the first wicket stand. Saim, who scored 68 points in only 36 balls, held the top spot. Throughout his innings, he hit eight fours and three sixes. Babar Azam smashed four fours and two sixes in his 50 off 41.

The 36 runs contributed by Tom Kohler Cadmore were assisted by three sixes and two fours. Shaheen Shah Afridi scored four runs for the Lahore Qalandars while Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, and Rashid Khan each claimed two wickets.

Lahore Qalandars were dismissed for 172 runs in 19.4 overs while pursuing 208 as a response. Shaheen Shah Afridi contributed 52 runs, while Hussain Talat continued to lead the way with 63 runs. The 20 runs Sikandar Raza scored. Arshad Iqbal, Wahab Riaz, and Azmatullah Omarzai all claimed three wickets for Zalmi.

Peshawar Zalmi improved to fourth position with the victory and eight points after seven games. With 12 points, Lahore Qalandars continue to sit atop the standings.
