PCB has appointed Haroon Rashid, who played 23 Tests and 12 ODIs between 1977 and 1983, as the Chair of the men’s National Selection Committee.
PCB appointed New Chief Selector
The Pakistan Cricket Board has named a former international hitter to chair the men’s National Selection Committee, with the remainder of the panel to be disclosed soon. Rashid succeeds former all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who recently served as a temporary head selector when Mohammad Wasim was ousted from the role. Rasheed was formerly the PCB’s director of cricket operations and team manager and the men’s squad’s main selector in 2015 and 2016.

I would want to congratulate Haroon Rashid and hope that he would utilize his cricket expertise, insight, and background while selecting teams for upcoming international assignments,” PCB Chairman Najam Sethi stated. Haroon expressed his gratitude for being “entrusted with the duty” in a year that included the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India, among other significant series. “I’d want to spend some of my time working on enhancing communication,” Haroon remarked.
