Pakistan’s Shan Masood reacts to his selection for the T20 World Cup 2022

Before the T20I series against England, Shan Masood, a bolter in Pakistan’s 15-member team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, talks about his call-up.

Masood was initially selected for Pakistan’s T20I team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia next month, but the southpaw might make his T20I debut sooner given that Pakistan and England are scheduled to play seven matches beginning on September 20.

Masood talked about his unexpected call-up and what he thought may have led to it. Masood beat Fakhar Zaman to the squad.

Shan Masood express his thoughts about T20 series against England

Playing for County in England, according to Masood, “was a really significant stepping stone in terms of my getting into the T20I team (for the T20 World Cup).” The Pakistan Super League was a significant improvement, and competing at that level always boosts confidence.

Having participated in the T20 Blast there and scoring some runs. It was crucial, in my opinion, to merely get my name known. The fact that I had so much opportunity to play cricket for the County was fantastic. I came to terms with who I was as a person and a batter.

I owe Mickey Arthur and Derbyshire a great deal for the time they spent on me. And it was a learning experience for me as a player to just be around all the venues and play against guys who were part of the England system.

Shan Masood praised England’s white-ball squad, claiming it to be among the finest in the world, and said the next series would be the perfect warm-up for Pakistan before the T20 World Cup.
