Former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur feels that the Pakistan national team has one of the greatest fast-bowling assaults in T20 cricket and has a multitude of fast-bowling alternatives to select for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in 2022.
Mickey noted on ESPNcricinfo that Pakistan’s pace battery has no shortage of skill and that the national team management would have a serious selection quandary while deciding on the attack for the mega-event.
For the T20 World Cup, the 54-year-old selected his Pakistani pace attack. He claimed that express left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi would be an easy option for any team in the globe, thus he would be the top pacer, while Haris Rauf has also established himself as an important member of Pakistan’s set-up.
Mickey indicated that Naseem Shah, a young speed Phenom, would be his third choice to construct a perfect pace attack for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. Mickey also stated that young bowling all-rounder Mohammad Wasim Jnr. and pacer Shahnawaz Dahani would be next in line, with seasoned pacer Hasan Ali as his sixth-choice fast bowler for the competition.
Pakistan’s fast bowling attack, coupled with their spin attack of Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz, according to the current Derbyshire head coach, makes up ideal bowling that contains a left-arm pacer, right-arm pacers, a leg-spinner, and a finger-spinner. He predicted that the Men in Green will be a formidable force at the future event.
