Jonny Bairstow’s absence from the T20 World Cup 2022 is a major setback for England

Jonny Bairstow, captain of the England Cricket team, will not play in the third Test Match against South Africa nor was the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022. Bairstow involved in a rare accident that resulted in a lower limb injury. On Friday, he was playing golf in Leeds when he was injured. He will now miss the remainder of the summer as well as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia due to the injury.

Bairstow was chosen to England’s T20 World Cup team today and was poised to begin the innings with Jos Buttler during the competition, after the removal of Jason Roy.

Big loss for England to drop his Match Winner Bairstow due to lower limb injury

The ECB confirmed Bairstow’s injury in a statement: “Bairstow received a lower limb injury in a freak accident while playing golf on Friday in Leeds.” He will consult a doctor next week to determine the exact degree of his ailment.

Nottinghamshire hitter Ben Duckett has been named to the LV= Insurance third Test team, which will begin next Thursday at the Kia Oval. A decision on who will replace Bairstow in England’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup roster will be made soon.
