Islamabad United overcomes once again in PSL 8

The leading scorer for Islamabad United was Azam Khan. With the aid of 8 sixes and 9 fours, he managed to score 97 runs off of only 42 balls. It’s incredible that his strike rate was just over 230. Azam Khan received the title and prize for Player of the Match in recognition of this outstanding effort. Asif Ali scored 42 runs on 24 balls with the aid of 4 sixes and 1 four after Azam Khan, who was the second-best scorer. In addition, Colin Munro scored 38 runs on only 22 balls, including four sixes and a single four.

At the conclusion of Islamabad United’s innings, Faheem Ashraf still had one run on 17. They had totaled 220 runs by the time Islamabad United Innings came to a close. Reaching such a high score after losing several early wickets was a significant accomplishment for Islamabad United. Islamabad United was able to reach such a high total in part because to Azam Khan, who contributed 97 important runs and a magnificent knock.

Odean Smith and Muhammad Hasnain both grabbed two wickets while bowling for the Quetta Gladiators. Aimal Khan and Naseem Shah both secured one wicket. Muhammad Nawaz and Iftikhar Ahmad failed to claim any wickets. The batting of the Quetta Gladiators was not as strong as it could have been. Quetta Gladiators immediately began dropping wickets. They were trying to achieve the 221, the goal Islamabad United had set for them when they reached 26 runs and had already lost 3 wickets.

Muhammad Hafeez led all scorers with 48 runs, followed by Sarfaraz Ahmed with 41 runs and Iftikhar Ahmed with a respectable 39 runs. Apart than that, Quetta Gladiators did not get any noteworthy results. After scoring just 157 runs in 19.1 overs, the whole squad was dismissed. United Islamabad from Hassan Ali and Fazalhaq Farooqi both captured three wickets. Both Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan claimed two wickets.

The most frugal bowler out of the group was Abrar Ahmed, who only allowed 21 runs in his 4 overs. Islamabad United won with ease in this match. Another thing I saw was that when Quetta Gladiators lost a few wickets, I could sense a lack of focus on their part since they continued rotating the strike rather than smashing it hard. This placed the tailenders under a lot of needless strain in the last few overs.
