Inzamam ul Haq bats to help Pakistan qualify for the T20 World Cup in 2022 with Shoaib Malik

After the Men in Green’s middle order let them down in the recently finished Asia Cup 2022 in the UAE, former captain Inzamam ul Haq has endorsed the requests for Shoaib Malik to be included in the Pakistan team for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

In order to boost Pakistan’s middle order, which struggled in their last two Asia Cup 2022 games against the reigning champions Sri Lanka, he also urged that Shan Masood and Sharjeel Khan be recruited to the team for the T20 World Cup 2022.

Shoaib Malik should be in the Pakistani team, according to Inzamam ul Haq, to bolster the middle order, which failed against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup.

According to The Indian Express, Inzamam ul Haq spoke with Pakistani media.

In my opinion, the team should include Shan Masood, Sharjeel (Khan), and Shoaib Malik, especially in the middle order. Following Malik’s exclusion from the Pakistani team for the Asia Cup 2022, the former top selector also responded to Malik’s accusations of a “liking and disliking culture” in the Pakistani team.

Inzamam commented on the matter, saying, “Such claims have existed in the past and will do so in the future as well. We must realize that a team of selectors, a coach, and a captain make the final choice throughout the selection process (on selection). Although I can’t speak to friendships, likes and dislikes do exist anywhere.

In addition, he expressed confidence that Pakistan’s out-of-sorts skipper Babar Azam can bounce back well in time for the T20 World Cup 2022.

Yes, it has been a while since Babar Azam failed to register a point in a competition, Inzamam acknowledged. He’s a powerful player who can regain his form, but Pakistan should be most worried about the middle order because it failed the squad.

“The middle order needs to be modified,” he said in conclusion. When selecting the team for the T20 World Cup, selectors must keep in mind that Australia (as the host nation) will be a different ballgame.
