ICC Women’s Player of the Month winner for October 2022 announced

Nida Dar of Pakistan has been awarded the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for October 2022 following her outstanding performances at the Women’s Asia Cup. Along with Dar, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma from India were nominated for the prize. However, the seasoned Pakistan all-rounder won the tournament, defeating the Indian combination.

Dar performed admirably for Pakistan at the Women’s Asia Cup in October. She scored 145 runs in six matches at a great average of 72.50 and took eight wickets at a meager 14.87 runs per wicket. Her achievements include an outstanding all-round performance against India, in which she struck an unbeaten 56 and bowled 2/23 to lead Pakistan to a historic triumph. Dar’s steady efforts in a demanding batting and bowling role enabled Pakistan to reach the semi-finals, where they were defeated by Sri Lanka by a single run.

It was great to be nominated for the award and to win it is very special to me,” Dar said of the award. I wish we could have won the Women’s Asia Cup, but I am happy that we as a team are performing, and the recent series win against Ireland at home shows the commitment the girls are putting into their game.” I take tremendous pleasure in serving my nation, and my goal is to help my team win as much as possible.
