With the half-century, he now owns the record for the most 50-point scores in a calendar year. This was Babar’s 25th 50+ score, breaking Ricky Ponting’s 2005 record of 24. Despite the team’s mixed record in Test cricket this year, the captain has thrived in the format, scoring over 1000 runs in nine matches. Only three other hitters have reached the four-figure milestone in Tests this calendar year.
