Being selected as the ICC Women’s Player of the Month among some of the best athletes competing in sports is a unique honor for me as an individual and as the captain of the Indian cricket team. In addition to being a standout hitter, Harmanpreet Kaur had a spectacular month guiding the Indian side to a 3-0 ODI victory against England.

Since 1999, India has not won a series in England. Harmanpreet Kaur set an excellent example for the team throughout the series and finished with the most runs scored (221 runs at an average of 221, with a strike rate of 103.27) overall.

In the first two games, Harmanpreet Kaur was flawless in her execution of the finisher’s duty. Her fast-paced 74* performance in the first ODI helped India defeat Pakistan despite chasing 228. Her second-highest score in the 50-over format came in the second ODI, where she brilliantly scored 143* off just 111 balls.

She had a lackluster T20I series before the ODI series, although she did contribute to India’s lone series victory with a 22-ball 29*.
