Pakistan has named an official concussion replacement for Haris Sohail, who will not play in Karachi in the second innings of the third ODI.
Lockie Ferguson Surprised Haris Sohail
In the 43rd over of Pakistan’s innings, Haris Sohail was hit on the side of the helmet by a Lockie Ferguson bouncer that stayed low and pursued him as he sought to duck. The speed gun read 150kph, and as he continued, he had discomfort on the side of his neck.

Haris Sohail has been replaced by batsman Kamran Ghulam, who has yet to appear in this series. Haris Sohail seemed bewildered in the aftermath of the collision, prompting the Pakistan physio to undergo a long examination for suspected concussion. He was ultimately permitted to bat but only lasted two pitches before being run out after misjudging a single.

New Zealand replacement fielder Henry Nicholls blasted him back to the locker room with a straight hit. Sohail hit 22 runs off 25 balls to help Pakistan reach 280, the best total in the three-match series. Sohail isn’t Pakistan’s only injury-enforced absentee in the second innings on Friday. Fakhar Zaman will also miss the game due to a hamstring injury.

It hampered him soon after achieving his ninth ODI century, as he only added one run to his total. Tayyab Tahir, who was called up to the Pakistan team for the first time for this ODI series after a strong performance in the recently finished local one-day tournament, the Pakistan Cup, has come on as a replacement fielder.
