Four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka comes out on top. The highest-paid female athletes according to Forbes

The top-earning female athlete according to Forbes is Naomi Osaka; the 10 highest-paid female athletes received a combined $166.6 million, which Forbes noted was a 23% increase from its 2020 ranking. According to a Forbes list of highest-paid female athletes, Naomi Osaka is the highest-paid athlete in the world.

Over the last year, the Japanese star, who has promoted awareness of mental health concerns in sports, earned $57.3 million in prize money and endorsements. 

The top-earning female athlete according to Forbes is Naomi Osaka; the 10 highest-paid female athletes received a combined $166.6 million, which Forbes noted was a 23% increase from its 2020 ranking. According to a Forbes list of highest-paid female athletes, Naomi Osaka is the highest-paid athlete in the world.

The next tennis players on the list were Serena Williams ($45.9 million) and Venus, the elder Williams sister ($11.3 million). The top two performers were Spanish tennis star Garbine Muguruza ($8.8 million) and American gymnast Simone Biles ($10.1 million).

Over the last year, the Japanese star, who has promoted awareness of mental health concerns in sports, earned $57.3 million in prize money and endorsements.

Five of the list’s ten slots were occupied by tennis players, according to Forbes, which contrasts sharply with 2019 when tennis grabbed all ten spots.

Other athletes in the top 10 included Indian badminton player P.V. Sindhu ($7.2 million), world No. 1 tennis player Ashleigh Barty ($6.9 million), golfer Nelly Korda ($5.9 million), South Korean golfer Ko Jin-young ($7.5 million), Nelly Korda ($5.9 million), and basketball player Candace Parker ($5.7 million).
