In the round of 16, France defeated Poland 1-3, while in the quarter-finals, France defeated England 1-2 to reach the semi-finals. This is the first time that France and Morocco are competing against each other in the FIFA World Cup. The two teams have previously met seven times in different tournaments, with France winning five times and Morocco winning twice.
