On Tuesday in BPL 2023, Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir’s excellent session enabled Sylhet Strikers to defeat Fortune Barishal by two runs. Mohammad Wasim, a Pakistan all-rounder, struck early for Barishal, taking three wickets in his first over.

He assassinated Zakir Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, and Mushfiqur Rahim. The all-rounder concluded his four overs by giving 34 runs, with Strikers hitting a competitive total of 173-5 thanks to an unbeaten 89-run effort from Najmul Hossain Shanto. Strikers all-rounder Imad Wasim bowled an economical stint, conceding just 13 runs in four overs to slow down Barishal’s run rate. Iftikhar Ahmed, the in-form hitter for Barishal, sought to boost the ante but was caught after scoring 17 off 13 balls.

Amir gave just one run in his last over, with Barishal requiring 42 from 24 balls, and picked up a key wicket of Karim Jannat, who had smashed Mashrafe Mortaza for three consecutive sixes in the previous over. Amir also removed seasoned hitter Mahmudullah in his last over, finishing with two wickets and allowing just 24 runs in his four-over session. Wasim attempted a cameo towards the end, with his side needing 13 runs from two deliveries, but the Pakistan all-rounder could only smash a six and four, falling two runs short of the objective.
