Many brilliant batsmen have graced the Big Bash League (BBL) throughout the years, but no one has dominated it quite like Queensland opener Chris Lynn.

With 3005 runs in 100 innings at 34.54/148.83, the swashbuckling former Brisbane Heat batsman is the Big Bash League’s all-time highest run-getter. Lynn is also the only player to have scored more than 3000 BBL runs while simultaneously hitting the most sixes (180). Former Australian ODI captain Aaron Finch is ranked second all-time in run-scoring. The Melbourne Renegades player has scored 2817 runs in 86 innings with a strike rate of 134.01 and an average of 34.77.

Following Finch comes the explosive Glenn Maxwell, who has 2673 runs in 95 games at 33.83/150.84 with 20 50+ scores, including two 100s. Maxwell’s strike rate of 150.84 remains the best among players who have scored 2000 or more runs. Jonathan Wells, who has played for the Adelaide Strikers and the Hobart Hurricanes throughout his decade-long BBL career, ranks fourth with 2554 runs in 103 innings at 34.98/122.78 with 14 50+ scores.

Despite only playing in the BBL since 2016, Hobart Hurricanes’ basher rounds out the top-5 list. Short has 2553 runs at 39.89/133.66 in 72 games, with 22 50+ scores, including two bombs. Shaun Marsh, the seasoned southpaw who also happens to be the tournament’s quickest to 1000 runs, is ranked sixth. Marsh has 2398 runs against him in 68 innings pitched at 39.96/128.57, including 22 50-plus runs.
