BBL: Hobart Hurricanes beat Perth Scorcher by 8 runs in Big Bash 2023, Match 8

The Hobart Hurricanes will face the Perth Scorchers in match eight of the 2022/23 Big Bash, the tournament’s 12th edition. These teams have had contrasting starts to their respective BBL campaigns in 2022/23. The Hobart Hurricanes were defeated by the Melbourne Stars by 38 runs in their first game, while the Perth Scorchers defeated the Sydney Sixers by the same margin.

Jhye Richardson starred with the ball for the Scorchers, picking up four wickets, while Aaron Hardie’s 55 off 32 balls had earlier helped his side to a competitive total. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes were blown away by Joe Clarke’s century, which single-handedly destroyed their pace attack. Their batters were unable to respond to Luke Wood and Adam Zampa.

Richardson was impressive in his first game, conceding a miserly nine runs in addition to picking up four wickets.
