For the forthcoming series of three T20Is between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Sharjah, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and Haris Rauf have all been rested from the Pakistani team.

Pakistan vs Afghanistan T20Is Series

Imad Wasim has been called up to the national squad for the first time, Shadab Khan has been selected as captain, Saim Ayub, and Ihsanullah are both top PSL 2023 players, and Imad Wasim has been recalled. A new strategy for controlling workloads and player rotation has been established by the Haroon Rasheed-led PCB selection committee for the national senior men’s squad.
The series against Afghanistan was an opportunity for the selectors to test their new strategy as it was not included in the ICC’s Future Tours Plan. The PCB chairman, Najam Sethi, stated in a news conference on Monday that the Afghanistan Series was a training ground for testing our young players. “I’m not concerned about Afghanistan winning or losing; if we can discover a few outstanding kids, that will be plenty.
The series is mostly about discovering and nurturing our fresh talent.” In all three versions, Babar will continue to serve as our captain. There is no doubt that the team will continue to include all of the older players because I have their trust. In Babar’s absence, Shadab Khan will captain the team as he is the vice-captain and an obvious candidate to do so.
He is a fantastic all-arounder who leads Islamabad United [in the PSL] by scoring runs, taking wickets, and displaying tremendous patience. He is the ideal candidate to guide the youthful side.
