Muhammad Akhlaq, a right-handed rookie who started and won the game for Karachi Kings against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday at a jam-packed Gaddafi Stadium, was happy to lead his team to a convincing victory.

Akhlaq, who was named player of the game for his amazing 51 that helped the Kings reach a respectable total, described his game-winning effort as acceptable in his post-game press conference. “I appreciate Almighty Allah for treating me with respect in my first game. I absolutely enjoyed playing for the Karachi Kings, Akhlaq stated.

I liked my time playing for Islamabad United and Karachi Kings, and I also learned a lot at that time. Yet, the Almighty Allah treated the Karachi [Kings] with dignity, he said. The right-handed batsman then discussed the Kings’ performance in the PSL 8 and said that a few tight defeats and subpar death bowling derailed their progress toward the playoffs.

“Our squad was exceptional, but we had bad luck in this competition since we lost the majority of the games by narrow margins. I thus believe it was just terrible luck. The situation seemed favorable, but ultimately we were unable to get good outcomes, Akhlaq remarked.

We were having trouble bowling well in the final five overs of the innings, which was the main factor in our failures, he said. It’s important to note that the Kings’ bowlers destroyed the Qalandars’ batting lineup to win a commanding 86-run victory after Akhlaq helped the Kings reach 196/7. The Kings concluded the PSL 8 season in fifth place with six points after a convincing victory against Qalandars in their last match.
