On Sunday, India defeated Sri Lanka by 317 runs in Thiruvananthapuram, completing a 3-0 series triumph. After reaching the 400-run barrier for the second time in the series, the Blue team produced a brilliant bowling effort to terminate Sri Lanka’s innings at 73 runs.
With one batsman out due to Ashen Bandara’s injury, Sri Lanka suffered a record-breaking 317-run defeat in the last ODI. This is the largest margin of victory in any men’s ODI and the first time any side has won a men’s ODI by more than 300 runs. In women’s one-day internationals, New Zealand beat Pakistan by 408 runs in 1997.
